The Third Ward Photowalk

Missed out on the Hamilton?Passing on the workshops?Why not join us Wednesday morning for a photowalk through Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward — and discover some of the architectural and typographic gems strewn about Brew Town. This casual walk will be hosted by local designer (and impromptu tour guide) Brian Artka and TypeCon regular Grant Hutchinson.We’ll meet in the lobby of the InterContinental Hotel around 10:00am and then wander out through the southern part of downtown, venturing into the richly textured warehouse district that was nearly destroyed by fire towards the end of the 19th century. If time allows (and the photowalkers are willing) we’ll continue further south into the Fifth Ward — one of Milwaukee’s up and coming urban neighborhoods.Our tentative route is outlined on Google Maps.If you’re interested in participating, leave a comment (or just show up on Wednesday morning.)
